Overtime Calculation

📖 Definition

Saudi Labor Law requires overtime pay at 150% of the hourly wage (base wage + 50% premium). Standard working hours are 8 hours/day or 48 hours/week, reduced to 6 hours/day during Ramadan.

In everyday Saudi accounting work, overtime calculation matters because it affects invoice accuracy, financial reporting, tax filing, or ZATCA compliance depending on the transaction.

💡 Example

Employee earning SAR 6,000/month: hourly rate = 6,000/(30×8) = SAR 25. Overtime = SAR 37.50/hour.
